Advert Favourites

September Favourites

I’m a little bit late with this post as I’ve had a busy week trying to organise an event and completing lots of deadlines. But anyway, better late than never!

Guinness – Basketball

I love this one because it’s a really sweet advert. At first it seems like you’re just watching people who are disabled play basketball but when the game ends and everyone except for one man gets up and walks out. It’s an advert that  puts a smile on your face and shows the true meaning of friendship.

I didn’t have many favourite adverts from September so I’m going to add in two adverts that I really didn’t like.

Daily Mirror – Made You Think

I don’t like this one because it’s confusing and I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to take away from the advert other than the Daily Mirror seems very cryptic. The hashtag at the ends also annoys me, just spell ‘you’ as ‘you’ not ‘u’!

Iceland Foods  – It’s Time We Met

This one also confused me (is it just me who really doesn’t get these adverts?!). So we see a girl in red (reminds me of Special K) going into a coffee shop and this is where she smiles at a guy and then giggles a little too much. Next we see her with said guy at his house where he is making her dinner. Already I’m confused. Have they just met at the coffee shop or do they know each other already? Then we see her daydreaming about this guy whilst she’s at a friends house and then the guy appears in a Iceland van and picks up the red girl. The caption ‘ Maybe it’s time we met’ appears. Are they meaning that maybe it’s time the viewer meets Iceland? Or are they still talking about the couple in the advert? It’ s like the worst love story ever (although probably still better than Twilight).

Rants over, what do you guys think? If anyone wants to give me an explanation incase I’m being really stupid please leave it in the comments!

  1. I thought I was the only one who didn’t understand the Iceland advert! Its so confusing, maybe she suffers from short term memory loss and has to fall in love with her husband every day… at least, I’d like to think that 🙂
